A name synonymous with Sufi music in this country, Kavita Seth's soulful voice is a pure blend of divinity and love. From her debut Maula in the film Vaada to Mujhe Matt Roko in Gangster to Mora Piya Mose Bolat Nahi in Raajneeti to Bangur Jaisi Duniya in I AM to her claim to fame, Iktara in Wake Up Sid, Tum Hi Ho Bandhu in Cocktail, each song she lends her voice to promises to stay with people forever. Her recent Bollywood chart- toppers include Nuskha Tarana from Gone Kesh, Khalipan Shor Kare from Paharganj, Jeete Hain Chal from Neerja, Prem Mein Tohre from Begum Jaan, and Maa from Maatr. Besides her successful oeuvre in Bollywood, she has also rendered her voice to Lagan Laagi Re and Khari Khari, songs from the Hollywood venture Trishna. In fact, her vocals in the Rajasthani folk-based Khari Khari mesmerised one and all through the popular music based TV show, Coke Studio. Her first International single ‘Mahi’ with Lost Stories was a chart topper on Apple Music and the likes followed by Bombay Dreams with International Artists Kshmr.A post graduate in Hindustani Classical music, Kavita shares pristine sufi renditions through her numerous music albums -- Ek Din (Universal Music), OM (Sa Re Ga Ma), Sufiaana (Times Music), Kabirana Sufiana (EMI), Bulleshah (EMI), Jaam-e-Sufi (Hungama- digital), Khuda Wohi Hai (Times Music), Trance with Khusrow (Sony Music). Having carved a niche for herself in the industry, the singer has bagged several awards. The prestigious Filmfare, IIFA, Stardust, Screen, three awards by GIMA (Global Indian Music Academy), Radio Mirchi, GR8 Woman Achiever Award in Music and many more have appreciated her exceptional talent.

The audience has been witness to her captivating live performances for more than 30 years now. Having performed successfully in more than 500 venues world over, Kavita has indeed proven that music knows no boundaries. This empanelled artist at ICCR for Sufi Music has spread the message of love through music at the Common Wealth Games- Qutub, Delhi, Aman Ki Asha organised by The Times of India, Lucknow Festival, Jodhpur RIFF (Rajasthani International Folk Festival) at Mehrangarh Fort, Red Fort (New Delhi) Urdu Academy, Ajanta Ellora Festival- Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Laxmi Vilas Palace- Vadodra, Festival of India, Kala Ghoda Association , Mumbai, various IIT and IIMs institutes in the country, Chandni Chowk Utsav at Delhi, International Sufi Festival ( Music ) among many others. In the memory of her beloved husband, guide, mentor and friend Mr. K.K. Seth she annually organizes Anandotsav and Nirvana, two Sufi evenings for her fans, to celebrate life through music.

With a dream to infuse the spirit of Sufism in more and more people across the globe, Kavita Seth partnered with her son Kanishk for her album Trance with Khusrow released in 2014. ‘Rangi Saari’, her single in collaboration with Kanishk has received immense love across digital platforms with over a million organic streams and views. Her latest dream project ‘Main Kavita Hoon’ is an attempt to bring to the world, her compositions of the precious works of timeless poets. She has performed the works of Dr. Wasim Barelvi, Amrita Pritam, Dipti Misra and Dr. Bashir Badr. The Live In Concert - Main Kavita Hoon is also available across digital platforms. Kavita’s dream is to take the property ‘Main Kavita Hoon’ across the globe to showcase her renditions of works of renowned poets like Bashir Badr, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Dipti Misra, Jagdish Prakash and legends like Rumi, Bulleh Shah, Kabir among others. Her latest work is with Internationally acclaimed film-maker and Padma Bhushan awardee Mira Nair. Kavita dons the hat of the composer and singer in Tabu and Ishaan Khatter starrer ‘A Suitable Boy’.

Kavita Seth is synonymous with Sufi music in the country. Her original Sufi compositions and renditions of Sufi classics have enthralled the audience in over 500 venues across world. The audience not only sways with her music but also finds themselves lost in trance. Khuda Wohi Hai, Tu Raaz Hai, Chaap Tilak and many more.

Bollywood and Classics with a Sufi Touch

Kavita Seth has lent her voice to numerous Bollywood songs. Iktara from Wake up Sid, Tum Hi Ho Bandhu from Cocktail, Mora Piya from Rajneeti, Jeete Hain Chal from Neerja, Prem Mein Tohre from Begum Jaan, Khari Khari from Trishna and many more. The work of legendary poet Mirza Ghalib holds a special place in every poetry lover’s heart. Kavita Seth grew up reading his exceptional words and now performs an entire concert dedicated to this legend. ‘Dil-e-nadaan tujhe hua kya hai’, ‘Hazaron khwahishen aisi’, ‘Har ek baat pe kehte ho’ and the list is endless.

Main Kavita Hoon - Amrita Pritam

The great Punjabi poet and writer Amrita Pritam gave the world a treasure chest of her work. Ik Supne Warga Rang, Aj Akhan Waris Shah Nu, Wah Sajan, Main Tainu Phir Milangi are some of the poet’s masterpieces. Kavita Seth who fell in love with her work, dived into it to create a beautiful two hour concert composing her works with utmost love.

Main Kavita Hoon - Dr. Bashir Badr

Dr. Bashir Badr, an Indian poet is celebrated across the world for his Urdu ghazals. Kavita Seth's melodious tunes give new life to Bashir Saab’s words. ‘Kaun aaya raaste aaeena khane ho gaye, Woh chandani ka badan khushbooyon ka saaya hai, Woh nahi mila toh malal kya and many more are performed by the singer.

Main Kavita Hoon - Dr. Wasim Barelvi

Another attempt to revive the tradition of poetry gave birth to Main Kavita Hoon with world renowned Urdu poet Dr. Wasim Barelvi. The concert entails Kavita perform her soul-stirring renditions of the maestro’s work. Mohabbat Nasamjh Hoti, Maine Muddat Se, Apne Chehre Se among others are brought to life by the singer.

Kabir and Meera

The 16th century mystic poet and devotee of Krishna, Meera Bai’s words are beyond magical and the 15th century poet and saint Kabir wrote verses that enchanted the listener. Composing the timeless works of these beloved poets, Kavita Seth in her own defining style weaves together a beautiful musical presentation. Kabir’s Sab Jag Maya, Mere Toh Giridhar Gopal, Tera Mera Manwa….

Luminance of Verse

When bold words find a magical voice, it creates a song, an atmosphere that percolates inward and lets you feel the unfelt. Two strong personas in their own field - the divine Sufi voice, Kavita Seth and eminent poetess & actor, Dipti Misra have designed a 90-minute concert titled Luminance of Verse. It entails recitation of free verses and ghazals by Dipti Misra as Kavita Seth renders the poetess' work in her unique Sufi feel. Luminance of Verse is a project highlighting women empowerment and the two wish to take across the globe.
